Appointments

We are proud of providing exceptional comprehensive care to all patients. In order to do so, we offer consultations only by prior appointment.

Appointments can be previously booked at telephone numbers 902 181 272 & 96 642 62 26, by sending an email to info@alfredoferrer.com and via our contact form in this web site.

Regular office hours are Monday through Friday from 10:00 AM to 2:30 PM.

The management and organization of appointments corresponds to our reception managers; please do not hesitate to clarify with them any queries prior to your consultation, they are very efficient and are subject to professional secrecy, so your confidentiality is assured.

Despite all our efforts to adjust to the scheduled time for appointments, each case and each patient requires a different time, which is difficult to predict in advance. Therefore, we may not always be able to avoid delays our daily practice. We beg your understanding in this matter, since any of us can one day be causing a delay at a doctor’s surgery.

Emergency cases

Of course, we attend emergencies or urgent appointments who have not booked in advance, but we need you to please notify us by phone before coming. If we should exceptionally be unable to meet your emergency within a reasonable time, we may refer you to one of the several eye centres in our region with whom we maintain excellent collegial relationships.

Your visit at our clinic

The exploration of visual function and eye is complex and requires more time than in other medical specialties. A basic examination takes approximately an hour and a half and includes:

  • Collecting personal data.
  • Collecting medical data (medical history)
  • Examination of the visual function (eye test, prescription of glasses if necessary)
  • Examination of the anterior eye segment
  • Intraocular pressure measurement
  • Examination of the fundus (background of the eye)

The fundus exploration almost always involves dilating pupils using drops, after which your vision is limited. We therefore recommend not to drive for at least a couple of hours after. It is recommended that you bring someone who can get you home, or you plan enough time to recover before driving yourself.

It is possible that your particular problem requires more than one visit, additional tests or special monitoring. In such a case, we will arrange subsequent appointments to complete the treatment according to your needs

What should I bring on my appointment?

  • Passport or Identity document (e.g. NIE)
  • Your own Health Insurance Card (please visit our Health Insurance section)
  • Your most recent glasses
  • List of your current diseases and past operations (general and ocular)
  • List of possible allergies
  • List of current medications (general and ocular)
  • Contact lenses: If you are a contact lens wearer, bring your contact lenses, but do not wear them in the 48h prior to your appointment.

What if I can not keep my appointment?

If you are unable to keep an appointment, we ask that you kindly provide us with at least 48 hours notice.  This courtesy, on your part, will make it possible to give your appointment to another patient.

Payment

The consultations will be paid straightaway, either by cash, credit card or with your Health Insurance Card.
In case an eye surgery is needed, the payment will be arranged beforehand.
